Pork gets a bad rap! Why is that?

Pork from the grocery store is often subpar. Listen, there is a reason it’s cheap.

You are what you eat and that goes for animals too. If they are fed poor quality food, guess what? – You get poor quality pork that lacks nutrients and lacks flavor.

On top of that, many people don’t know how to properly prepare pork and often tend to overcook it, resulting in a tough, dry, and not so tasty meal. An overcooked low quality piece of pork? I wouldn’t want that either.

Aside from our chicken, our pork is the top choice of the family for every meal – if there is any left in our freezer.

Why is Rawck Ranch pork so different?

Forest raised right here at Rawck Ranch
Organic-fed
Moved regularly to fresh, clean forest for all the bugs and grubs they can eat
No dewormers
No vaccines
No antibiotics
No chemicals
Just pigs being pigs. The way God intended.

The pigness of the pig

It’s simple. We let the pigs be pigs. We raise our pigs in the woods (“the forest”) and allow them to root, dig, eat bugs, and make mud holes just like they do in the wild. Allowing pigs to roam and forage is key to a natural and healthy diet. This results in a nutrient dense cut of meat that is tender and full of flavor. You can’t find pork like this at the big grocery stores.

Organic fed

We supplement their natural diet with an organic mixed feed containing grains, seeds, and corn. Feeding organic ensures our pigs eat clean, naturally grown food.

Chemical Free

We move our pigs to new forest regularly. This allows the pigs access to a refreshed buffet of nature’s pig food and also keeps them away from their manure. Keeping them away from their manure avoids contact with parasites so the pigs don’t need any dewormers. With the pigs in a clean environment, there is also no need for vaccines or antibiotics.
